UK windscreen software compared
A UK windscreen company has four kinds of software to choose from: a windscreen-specific system such as AutoGlazer or Apex AGS, a general trades app, a US auto glass product, or a lookup tool used alongside something else. This page sets them side by side so you can choose.

We make AutoGlazer, so we are not neutral. To keep this fair, what we say about other products comes from their own public pages, linked below and checked on 30 October 2026. "Not stated" means we could not find it on their page, not that the product lacks it. Vendors change things, so confirm anything that matters with them. If we have got something wrong, email support@autoglazer.com and we will correct it.

AutoGlazer
Cloud software for UK windscreen fitting and repair companies, covering enquiries, parts, quotes, scheduling, fitters, stock, purchasing, vans, invoicing and reports. Its strongest fit is a firm with insurance or fleet work, because claim details, excess invoices, rate cards, holds and monthly statements are part of the product. See what it does and insurance and fleet invoicing.
Where it falls short today: the iPhone and iPad app is not on the App Store yet, direct accounting links and card payment are coming soon, and it is newer than the long-established names.
Apex AGS
Apex AGS is the auto glazing product from Apex Networks, whose homepage leads with vehicle recovery and transport software. Its page describes parts lookup through to invoicing, scheduling and dispatch for auto glass replacement businesses, vehicle workshops and dealerships, with ARGIC and registration lookup as standard, Android and iOS apps, export to most accounting packages, and a monthly rolling contract with no minimum term. The page shows a Google rating of Excellent from 84 reviews. Apex also runs WhatWindscreen, a registration and VIN glass lookup.
Prices are not published, so you will need to ask. Its page does not mention insurer billing or ADAS, so ask about those too if they matter to you. A 2025 post describes AGS as a rebuild of AutoglazeIT, its older product, and its current page mentions a new version, so check which version you would be buying.
Looking for an alternative to Apex AGS?
AutoGlazer is the most direct alternative we know of on general sale: also made for UK windscreen firms, with registration and ARGIC lookup. On our side, weigh published prices and insurer and fleet billing that we can show you. On theirs, weigh iPhone availability, a rolling contract with no minimum term and a longer track record.
General trades apps
Products such as Powered Now, Bosch OfficeOn, ToolTime, Jobber and Tradify are well made job, quote and invoice tools, and they often have free trials and direct accounting links. Where they mention glazing, they mean windows and doors. We did not find a parts lookup by registration, ARGIC codes or excess invoicing on the pages we checked. They can suit a very small firm doing mostly cash jobs that is happy to find its glass elsewhere.
US auto glass software
GlassBiller, Omega EDI, eDirectGlass, GlasPacLX and QuoteIQ top most "best auto glass software" lists, and most of those lists are written for US shops: prices in dollars, the NAGS parts catalogue and US insurers. They are worth a look only if a vendor confirms UK catalogues, UK VAT invoicing and your insurers.
Other names you will come across
- WhatWindscreen and autoglassportal identify glass from a registration or VIN. They are lookup tools, not job management.
- myWindscreen sends motorists' jobs to independent glaziers for a monthly fee. It brings in work rather than running the office, so it can sit alongside any of the above.
- Glass365 is a job app for vehicle glass technicians. Its App Store listing says it was built for AllScreens technicians, and does not say whether other firms can buy it.
- The national operators, such as Autoglass and National Windscreens, run their own systems, which are not for sale.
How to choose
- Most of your fitters use iPhones and you need an app now: AutoGlazer can't serve you yet, so ask about Apex AGS, or ask us when the iPhone app is due.
- You do insurance or fleet work: ask every vendor to show an excess invoice and a rate card in a live demo.
- You work alone: compare the monthly cost with the time spent on quotes and invoices. AutoGlazer Lite is built for this and has a free first month.
- You won't sign for a year: check rolling terms and what they cost. Ours is a higher monthly rate.
Questions to ask in any demo
- What does it cost in total for our branches and fitters, including messaging and tracking?
- Show me a job from enquiry to invoice with an insurer paying the balance.
- What does the fitter see with no signal, and what happens to their work?
- How do I get my data out if I leave?
- Who answers when something goes wrong, and how quickly?
